Happy Valentine’s Day

Happy Valentine’s Day to all of you. We have so many holidays that mean different things, but they all have to do with love of some kind. I am a person that has lived my whole life because of the love of lots of people. All of you on my contact list have shown love towards me. It means so much to me. We all have experienced love from family, friends, and special others. I pray that you’re experiencing love (or enjoying memories of abundant love) from all of these sources. Love is so important, but it’s most important when you share it with the people that you care about. If you haven’t done so yet, I encourage you to send a card, e-mail or text to those people you love, to let them know how you feel about them.

I look forward to being in touch with you. Valentine’s Day is the end of my official season of love and appreciation. My e-mail messages are meant to express those feelings throughout the year. Please take care and remember to give love and be loved.

Much love always,
DJ

New Years 2013 – Keep on Truckin!

I started off the new year kind of shaky. I caught a kidney and blood infection. Thank God I’m rebounding and getting better every day. Things have also changed with my nursing situation. I’m hoping to get some new reinforcements so I can keep going and be mobile enough to stay in touch with my people in the area and listen to some good music from time to time. Right now, I’m still healing. I hope to get together with someone somewhere and watch the Super Bowl. Go Ray Lewis and the Ravens! It should be a good one. Hey, Lon, I hope that Robert Griffin recovers nicely from surgery and is able to do even better next year with the new young quarterbacks that he helped burn up the league with this year.

I’m so proud of and happy for Barack and Michelle Obama. They are one of America’s top couples. I’m happy that it looks like Barack is going to be able to do something with Congress on immigration and the fiscal cliff. It’s going to be a tough road to go, but the more he accomplishes early on, the more he’ll be able to do about guns, jobs, the environment, and equal rights for women and minorities.

Sorry about what happened at Sandy Hook. All our kids deserve better. We should be thinking about the quality of education versus having to worry about the safety of the school environment.

God bless the east coast. I know they’re resilient and will eventually rebound from the past hurricane. The greenhouse effect makes us so vulnerable to extreme weather throughout this country and the world.

My spirituality tells me that this is a way that God is forcing us to deal more humanely and supportively with each other in our various communities. ONE LOVE.

I’m looking forward to turning 55 in July. I’m so blessed my mother especially has been so good to me. God has been good to us by keeping her and my father healthy. My brother’s beating challenges at work and continuing to raise a wonderful family with my sister-in-law Marcia. My brother Baron is raising his newest daughter and working with his oldest daughter Jamila to keep a happy family going. His mom is still the matriarch of the large Farwell clan. She’s so gracious and dignified. Those of us blessed to have mothers and grandmothers of age like her should continue to show our appreciation for the inspiration and motivation they provide.

I pray this is going to be a good year for me and all my friends and e-mates. I’m glad to stay in touch. Stay motivated and uplifted. I want to be supportive to you, encourage you like always and challenge you to make the best of our lives and circumstances. I love all of you. I’m so blessed to know you and be supported by you. Please reach out to each other. Pray for each other. Share your blessings. I’m so blessed to be supported by my friend Brian and his constant efforts to help sustain me and keep me in touch with you guys. It makes a big difference to all of us when you reach out and connect and comment to us on how you’re doing, what you’re thinking about what I’m saying, and how much you appreciate our efforts. God bless you. Keep looking out for my messages. Hopefully, we’ll talk or see each other in the near future.
